Math on the River Trail

Math on the River Trail

Fifth-graders recently took a virtual tour along a river trail, applying their math skills in real-world scenarios through the River Trails Project. Led by teachers like Caroline Logan, students practiced fractions by designing trail maps that used fractional distances to mark key spots along the path.

"Students create a map using a 60-centimeter trail and place objects visitors would see along the way," Mrs. Logan explained. Projects like this allow students to collaborate and work independently, which makes learning both fun and practical.
