Math Engages Students
Fifth-graders at Half Day School are developing real-life problem-solving skills through the math curriculum called Bridges in Mathematics as seen in these photos.
“Students worked in teams to create two different price options for a product,” explained Carrie Dwyer, Half Day’s REACH Coordinator. “Their classmates then analyzed the options to determine which offered the ‘Better Buy.’”
Bridges in Mathematics is a comprehensive, problem-solving-based curriculum designed to help students build a deep understanding of math concepts, develop fluency with key skills, and confidently tackle complex problems. Through engaging, hands-on activities like these, students learn to apply mathematical reasoning in meaningful ways.
