Honoring Our Retirees: A Legacy of Connection

The story of District 103 is written in the daily dedication of those who stay, grow, and lead. This year, we celebrate five extraordinary retirees whose combined careers span decades of transformation—from the era of handwritten lesson plans without internet to the fast-moving world of global connectivity and artificial intelligence. Whether it was Jill Reed helping students find their literal and figurative voices or Christine Moffat quietly powering the digital backbone of our classrooms—these leaders shared a singular focus. Through a global pandemic and the ever-changing landscape of educational technology, they remained anchored by the same principle: that the heart of education is not found in the tools we use, but in the people we serve. As they move toward new adventures of travel, family, and creativity, they leave behind a district that is more connected, more compassionate, and more resilient because of their lasting legacy.
